Parent Teacher Club

PTC Wrap-up 2007

Wow what a great start to the school year! The Parent Teacher Club officers wanted to share with all of you the success the PTC, as a group, has had so far this year. Everybody at the school has worked so hard this year to make this club a success. The money that the PTC raises goes towards a number of areas. Some of it is used for our wonderful teachers, fulfilling their
needs submitted from their “Wish Lists”. Money also goes toward purchasing items for our awesome music program. We have a Teacher appreciation week (Yes, a whole week to honor our teachers!) coming up in May. During the week we spend some of the hard earned money on those who do such a wonderful job with our children. There are also scholarships awarded through the PTC.

Here are some Highlights

  • The Auction: What a success! There was every imaginable item there to bid on, from spa packages and jewelry, to toys for all ages! The class projects that the kids made to be auctioned were amazing-what creative minds those children have. The total that the auction brought in was $15,465.
  • Box tops: Here’s proof that every dime counts. We have turned in $150 worth of box tops. At a dime each that is a lot of tops!
  • Scrip program: This was our first order. We sold over $10,000 worth of gift certificates, which netted us $637. Just think, we made a profit for our school and it didn’t cost us anything. We’d all still be shopping anyway! We will be having two more sales periods for the scrip gift card, the next one in February.
If you missed out the first time you still have a chance to participate.
  • Safeway e-scrip: This is an ongoing program, just for using your Safeway card when you shop there the school receives a percentage of what you spend. So far this year we have an additional 50 people signed
up. You are raising money for the school by doing your everyday shopping!
  • Canned Food Drive: What wonderful support from the families! 1,502 cans of food were collected to give to those who are in need. We couldn’t ask for a better way to give back to the community. This was also a great way for our kids to see the need to help others.
