General News
- Parent Survey: Thank you to all the families who have
completed the RSA Parent Survey. It is very important that we receive input
from all families at RSA and RSA II. If you have not already done so, please
take a few minutes to complete the online parent survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=AMMtA0fb9NSHfkg6drbgCQ_3d_3d.
If you do not have on-line access, surveys are available in both school offices.
Only one survey per household please.
- 8th GRADE GRADUATION: Please note that the time for the
8th grade graduation ceremony has been changed. The auditorium doors will
open at 5:30 pm with the ceremony starting at 6:00 pm.
- Hot Dog Lunch: On Tuesday, June 10th Tall Ships will be
hosting a Hot Dog Lunch fundraiser. For only $2.50 you can purchase a hot
dog, chips, and juice. Please complete the pre-order form on the back of
this week’s newsletter and return to your child’s teacher with payment by
Monday, June 9th.
- Otter Pop Sale: Otter Pops will be available during lunch
breaks during the last week of school for 25¢ each. This is a Tall Ships Fund
raiser.
- Honor Roll Trip: Please note that the date on the Honor
Roll Trip to the Trinity River has been changed to Saturday, June 7th from
9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Details for those students to come home shortly.
- RSA Yearbooks: The RSA Yearbooks have
arrived and will be distributed on MONDAY, JUNE 9th. There is still
time to order one, but hurry, supplies are limited! Cost is $35.00.
Make checks payable to RSA, include your child’s name and homeroom teacher
in the memo section, and turn in to your homeroom teacher!
- Broadway Musical Show Workshop Performance: You are cordially
invited to an informal evening of entertainment featuring the students in
the BROADWAY MUSICAL SHOWS Workshop on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
in the small auditorium, Room 210. The performance will be followed by autographs,
photographs, and refreshments in the Foyer!
- NO School Lunches: Friday, June 6th is the last day that
the cafeteria will be serving school lunches. Please send a sack lunch
with your child on June 9th, 10th, and 11th.
- PTC End of the Year Picnic:
Please join us on Monday, June 9th at Anderson River Park from 5:00-7:00 p.m. for
PTC’s End of the Year Picnic. There will be hot dogs, chips, drinks and dessert,
as well as fun games (sack races, water balloon toss, etc.) Volunteers are
needed to help with set up, serving, and clean-up. Please contact Peggy Keenan
at 245-0457 if you are available.
- Jamba Juice: Monday June 9th will be
the final day for Jamba Juice. They will be here at 10:00. The cost
is $4 and 20% of the proceeds will go to next year’s Honor Roll. This
is the only fundraising for Honor Roll and it pays for the trips, certificates,
and gifts. Thank you for your support!
- Warm Weather Reminders: As summer approaches and we see
more sunshine and warmer temperatures, please remember to put sunscreen on
your children before school. Also, don’t forget to send them with plenty
of water to keep them hydrated.
- Washington D.C. Trip: Students, family
members, and alumni are invited to join our June 2009 trip to Washington D.C.
Life-long memories are only a part of the fun awaiting us on this program.
During this engaging adventure, we will explore major historical landmarks
such as the U.S. Capitol, the Washington Monument, and Mount Vernon. We’ll
also reflect on the achievements of great Americans at places like the Jefferson
and Lincoln Memorials. You can visit www.worldstrides.org
to learn more about each destination, site, and activity. If you would like
to travel in June 2009 at the same price as June 2008, a registration fee
of $79 will hold your place. The discount price has been extended until June
15, 2008. For further information, please contact Becky Call at rcall@suhsd.net.
- Lost and Found: Please remember to check the Lost and
Found for your child’s missing items. All items will be donated to a local
aid organization at the end of the school year.
- Aladdin Jr DVD: Copies of the Aladdin Jr. DVD are still
available for purchase. Order forms are available in the RSA main office.

- eScrip Fundraising 2007: Our eScrip contributions
totaled $1,307.59 for the 2007-08 year! A special thanks to those who
have registered and supported us with purchases through Safeway, Macy’s, and
online shopping at escrip.com. Anyone can register their Safeway, Macy’s,
debit or credit cards by going to www.escrip.com.
Hundreds of online stores will contribute a percentage of their sales to RSA.
If you have not registered all of your cards, check it out!
- Redding City Ballet: Redding City Ballet
is now accepting registrations through the Shasta College Admissions Office
for their summer session. Classes offered will include ballet, modern/contemporary
dance, jazz, hip-hop, tap, musical theater, Middle Eastern, International
Folk Dance, and Pilates. Classes will be held June 16th through July 5th.

- Hip Hop Classes: Hip Hop classes begin June 23rd! Sign
up for a two week session. Monday and Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 at Redding

Volunteer Opportunities
- Drama I Performance: Volunteers are needed to assist with
the Drama I performance on Thursday, June 5th. Please contact Jonnie Cardwell
at 953-6385 for more information.
- PTC End of the Year Picnic: Volunteers are needed to set
up, serve, and clean-up at PTC’s End of the Year Picnic on Monday, June 9th
from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. This is a great time to earn those last few volunteer
hours! If you are available to help, please contact Peggy Keenan at 245-0457.
RSA II General News
- End of the Year Assembly: RSA II students will be attending
the End of the Year Assembly on Monday, June 9th. Please drop your child
off at the RSA main campus in the morning. Teachers will be available at
7:45 a.m. to greet students, and early drop off will be available at 7:30
a.m. Students will be escorted to the RSA II campus following the assembly.
- NO School Lunches: Friday, June 6th is the last day the

- Primary Performance DVD: DVDs of the Primary Concert “Sharing
